European directives
Two European directives regulate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in terms of its use (employers’ obligations - 89/656/EC) and its design (manufacturer’s obligation – 89/686/EC).

The employers’ obligations are then transposed into the French Labour Code.

Obligation in terms of functioning
Ensuring correct functioning and satisfactory hygiene through maintenance, repair and replacement of PPE (Labour Code, R233-42).

  • Identification of protection needs and advice on the choice of the PPE
